Historic Unity Between Two NRNA Bodies in the United States
Las Vegas, USA — Two officially registered and operating Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Councils (NCC) in the United States have reached a historic unification. The formal announcement was made on Saturday at a special program held in Las Vegas, Nevada, following the signing of a unification agreement between the two groups.
The agreement brings together the NRNA registered and operating in New York under the leadership of Surya Lamsal (Sal) and the NRNA registered and operating in Tennessee under the leadership of Satendra Sah. As per the agreement, all institutional activities going forward will be conducted under the NRNA NCC USA registered in the state of Tennessee. The same organization’s EIN (Employer Identification Number) will be used, and with the signing of this agreement, the NRNA registered in New York has been formally dissolved.
The unification agreement was signed on behalf of both organizations by Yadu Banjara, General Secretary and Acting President, representing both the Satendra Sah–led and Surya Lamsal–led NRNA groups. The unity was finalized on the occasion of the ninth executive committee meeting and the first physical (in-person) meeting of the Satendra Sah–led NRNA NCC USA.
Speaking after the signing, General Secretary Yadu Banjara described the unity as a necessary and historic step in the interest of the institution and for achieving the common goals of Non-Resident Nepalis. He stated:
“It is easy to divide, but difficult to unite. Nevertheless, we have achieved unity through mutual understanding. When the goal is the same, there is no meaning in remaining divided. Standing together strengthens our voice and helps establish our issues more effectively.”
NRNA NCC USA President Satendra Sah emphasized that unity is the only viable option to safeguard and advance the rights and concerns of Non-Resident Nepalis. He said:
“For the protection and recognition of the common rights and issues of Non-Resident Nepalis, unity was essential. In the coming days, I will make every possible effort to bring other fragmented organizations in the United States into one unified framework. Our ultimate goal is to connect all Nepalis on a single common platform.”
On the same occasion, General Secretary Mohan Neupane called upon all remaining groups and stakeholders to come forward for unity through dialogue and constructive engagement.
The event was attended by representatives from various chapters, honorary members, chief patrons, patrons, and other distinguished participants. Those present welcomed the unification as a historic milestone and expressed their commitment to moving forward in a more strong, organized, and effective manner under a united NRNA NCC USA.
