Rammechhap, 13 February 2026 — Birendra Shrestha, candidate for the House of Representatives from the Progressive Democratic Party, has launched an ambitious plan to transform Rammechhap into a hub for agriculture, tourism, and entrepreneurship, intensifying his election campaign.
A permanent resident of Nonathok–4, Manthali, Shrestha stated that he has stepped into the political arena as a son, brother, and partner of the people, committed to serving his community.
Having successfully operated businesses in the UK and provided skills and employment opportunities to youth from more than 33 countries, Shrestha emphasised that he intends to bring the knowledge, expertise, and international experience gained abroad back to his homeland for its development. He noted that he is already creating opportunities for Nepali youth through initiatives such as Quick Sewa and the Innovation Institute Technology.
Shrestha, who holds an M.Ed in Engineering, an MA from London, an MPA from Tribhuvan University, and is a PhD scholar in social work, asserted that he will drive Rammechhap’s overall development through a scientific and data-driven approach. With the slogan, “Not to seek jobs, but to create them,” he unveiled plans to foster an environment that empowers young people with employment opportunities.
According to Shrestha, modernising agriculture, promoting tourism, and developing entrepreneurship are central to his vision of economically prospering Rammechhap. He appealed to voters to cast their ballots under his election symbol and urged support for a majority win, emphasising that “only new thinking, new plans, and new leadership can transform Rammechhap.”
Shrestha’s active campaign has captured the attention of local youth and intellectuals alike, making his announcement a focal point of the election discourse.
